Stone furnace

Smelt on the stone furnace first. The electric one is the later, faster station.

The build menu screenshot puts a stone furnace in the same production list as the campfire and the benches. Hamatti's 2023 Japanese page and the Fandom crafting notes treat it as the early way to turn ore into plate and related metal parts. Fuel is the fire materials those pages already use for the campfire, with wood as the stack everyone can name. I do not have a 1.0 burn time per piece of wood, so I am not printing a minutes-per-ingot figure.

Later power posts describe an electric furnace that runs three times as fast. That multiplier is the comparison I will cite. It does not delete the stone furnace. If you have no generator yet, the stone one is still the station in the menu.

A Steam comment from August 2025 says stone goes in and glass comes out. Glass itself is item 28 in the lists. I am not promoting one comment into the recipe table. If you need glass, the id is real and the furnace method is a single comment. The status column says 1 source, and the row stays out of the main smelt list.

Metal component, id 62, is a workbench recipe from iron plate in the station page, not a furnace output I can prove. Alloy sheet 66 and alloy component 64 are ids without a furnace yield attached. Leave those on the crafting index.

Questions

Does the stone furnace make glass?

One 2025 comment says so. It is not in the station guides, so it is not in the main recipe table.

Is the electric furnace faster?

The power posts say three times the stone furnace. They do not give either machine a seconds-per-item number.
